Safety Best Practice

AFS Bachy Soletanche will always strive to provide best practice in safety, quality and the environment, with continuous improvement outcomes for all of our stakeholders.

AFS Bachy Soletanche are totally committed to our continuous improvement process whereby our systems, procedures and process, combined with daily consultation in our pre-start meetings, allow us to improve each and every day we work.

In early 2007, AFS Bachy Soletanche introduced an Integrated Management System (IMS) to our operations. The IMS is now third party accredited by Global Mark for Quality, Safety and Environment in accordance with AS/NZS ISO 9001:2008 (Quality), AS/NZS 4801 (OH&S) and AS/NZS ISO 14001:2004 (Environment). This was a first in the Australian piling industry. To support our leaders achieve safe outcomes in the business, all AFS Engineers and Supervisors hold CERT IV WHS qualifications.

To assist in the implementation of this integrated management system, all AFS’ Supervisors and Engineers have field laptops and Smart phones. We are constantly striving to improve our safety performance, developing our culture and systems with the aim to achieve zero harm in the workplace. An example of this is the recent introduction of our “Be Alert for Warning Signs” campaign.

In October 2013 the BAFS Joint Venture was recognised by Workcover (NSW) as one of three finalists in the best new innovative work system for its Respite Shed.
