First diaphragm wall for AFS Bachy Soletanche in partnership with Menard Oceania.
An anchored diaphragm wall 800 mm thick will form the basement retaining wall for the Crown Development, Green Square project launched recently in front of 2000 guests including celebrities from the media and local politicians.
This project marks the beginning of AFS Bachy Soletanche involvement in the completion of diaphragm wall solutions and the implementation of diaphragm wall techniques within the company.
Making use of international expertise and specialist personnel, AFS Bachy Soletanche is able to effectively improve and deliver an extremely effective solution which offers advantages in structural retention and waterproofing. The design and construct project required some innovative thinking to overcome some interesting engineering challenges related to the adjacent underground railway and to penetrate the competent Sydney sandstone.
The 4,400m2 diaphragm wall works commenced in late September 2015 and was substantially completed March 2016.
